All in Just One Cookie
By Susan E. Goodman
Focused around all of the ingredients that are used to make chocolate chip cookies, this book takes the reader and listener on a world-wide exploration. The trip is complete from butter produced by local dairy farms in the United States to Madagascar vanilla beans. The flour page explains how challenging it used to be to harvest wheat and the miracle preformed in a couple of hours by a modern combine. It also includes the mining information for salt and baking soda. This is an unusual find. The book's sole shortcoming is the anthropomorphized animals which are used to tell the story. As the teacher utilizes this resource, that issue can be addressed.
