Dog Days

By Beth Gruber

While it may seem strange to include a book about dogs in a list of agricultural books, dogs do have a role on farms and the serving humans. Having a book that accurately portrays dogs and their history serving humans is also important to provide students with accurate information about animals. This book does just that. It provides information on dog roles, breeds, social structure, history, communications, terminology and equipment. It instructs the reader on the proper way to interact with dogs and what their body language tells the observer. It also gives good tips on animal care. The book closes with trivia and a glossary.
