At Home Learning March 15
Welcome to our At Home Learning Page! We will do our best to offer weekly ideas for at home learning about agriculture!
These activities will all be free to access and share. Our weekly activities do not build on each other, but are individual and can be done in any order.
With temperatures warming up the bugs are coming out! This week we are looking at bugs/insects!
First note:
All bugs are insects, but under the technical definition, not all insects are bugs. True bugs belong to an order of insects called Hemiptera. True bugs include stink bugs, bed bugs, water striders, and cicadas. (source here).
Invent an insect! Great for 2nd-6th grade, students will recognize what makes an insect an insect by identifying the common structures and characteristics of insects.
Insect Pit-Stops! Go bug hunting and see what you can find! All ages! Capture and study the different kinds of insects in your neighborhood with the use of an easy to make trap!
Pollinator Garden e-Comic! Learn about the various bugs important in the pollination process! Read it here, or listen/watch a read aloud here.
Insect Oragami! Make a flat piece of paper come to life! Great for all ages.
