Happy Halloween!

Halloween blog 23

Welcome to our At Home Learning Page! We will do our best to offer weekly ideas for at home learning about agriculture! These activities will all be free to access and share. Our weekly activities do not build on each other, but are individual and can be done in any order.

This week we are saying Happy Halloween! Here are some fun Halloween ideas.

Write a story together, or if the learner is old enough to, by themselves. Start with a fun prompt like: What if there was a scarecrow that was scared of crows? Scarecrows are often made out of straw for decorating. Do you know the difference between straw and hay? Watch this short video for a quick answer! Or watch this longer video for a detailed look at how they are harvested.

Halloween and fall mean harvest! Play Harvest This from My American Farm.

Did you know some candy is sweetened with sugar from sugar beets? Hey! Aren 't beets a vegetable? Does that mean my candy is a vegetable?! Read more about how Halloween starts on the farm!

Make a witches brew! From Mess with your Milk - do this fun milk experiment and choose green food coloring to call it "witches brew".

Here is a fun Halloween craft to do with that leftover milk jug!

BONUS: Here is a list of our favorite pumpkin books!

html"}
